About
GET TO KNOW ME
What inspired you to become an author?
I was reading a teen romance during study hall (I know that's not a thing any more, so hopefully I haven't dated myself too much), and I realized I kept rewriting the dialogue and scenes in my head. I decided to give writing a try and proceeded to write the worst book EVER. But I loved the creativity and losing myself in the characters and stories, so I kept at it. I was thirteen years old when I started. How did you come up with the idea for the Knight's of KSI series? I actually wrote Book Two, Knight's Rescue, first. When I started it, I had no intention of publishing. But the more I wrote, the more I realized the time was now for me to go for my dream of being a published author. After I finished it, I realized Tristin and Kat needed their own story, so I wrote Knight's Haven and decided to make it Book One. The series is growing from there! What is your favorite book? There are so many! As far as children's books, it would have to be The Giving Tree or the Tale of Three Trees. I'm also a huge fan of the Junie B. Jones books. As far as classic literature, To Kill a Mockingbird and Gone With the Wind rank at the top. As far as contemporary romance, I follow a lot of authors and often re-read their books - Nora Roberts, Maryann Jordan, and Susan Stoker, just to name a few. Chocolate or vanilla? Chocolate, no question. Dog or cat? I'm a dog person all the way. I currently have a dog who is part bull terrier, border collie, labrador retriever, and beagle. I call her our bull collie beagador. Dream vacation destination? A log cabin in the mountains. Favorite music? Pop with a special affinity for '80s music. I'm pretty eclectic in what I listen to though. If it's a good song, the genre doesn't matter to me. Favorite food? This is hard to narrow down because I am a foodie! I love Chinese and Japanese food, but two things I can't live without - peanut butter and bacon (though not together)! Favorite color? Eggplant purple, though if you look at my wardrobe, you would easily see I favor the color blue. |
